2012 - 24th anual - renaisance fair in Arizona

What to expect: The Festival is celebrating its 24th Season of raucous revelry! One of the largest events of its kind in the nation, the Arizona Renaissance Festival is a place to revel in the atmosphere of 16th century Europe. Cheer for brave knights and roam a 30-acre festival village filled with castles, cottages, pubs and 12 stages of nonstop entertainment; falconry,
performances of music, dance and comedy. Cheer on your favorite armored knight at a joust-ing tournament in a 4,500-seat arena. Foolish pleasures mix with artisan treasures as you shop, eat and revel with a cast of nearly 2,000 colorfully costumed characters.

Explore the marketplace with over 200 storybook shops, studios and galleries filled with unique arts and crafts, plus kitchens and pubs, games and people-powered rides spread over 30 acres. Where else can you eat, drink, play and be merry?

Kids love the interactive games and people-powered rides; Da Vinci's Flying Machine, The Slider Joust, Piccolo Pony—a rocking horse bigger than an elephant! The Dragon Climbing Tower, Castle Siege, the Maze, Archery Range and much more!

The day's events begin with the 9:45am pre-opening gate performance and the 10am cannon shot. "Let the revelry begin!" is the call of the day. Event closes at 6pm with a faire-thee-well medley.

Wear comfortable shoes and expect to find more than a full day's worth of entertainment for the entire family. Join in - joust for the fun of it!
